George Dyer Band

George Dyer Band

Since its inception in 2017, the George Dyer Band has become one of the most highly respected acts on the European blues scene. The band has won numerous awards and received invitations to perform at the Suwalki and Jimiway festivals in Poland, and the Rendez-Vous de l’Erdre festival in France. To date, the band has appeared alongside acts such as Doyle Bramhall III, Tommy Castro, Curtis Salgado and Toronzo Cannon. In addition to their festival appearances, the George Dyer Band is a fixture of Wroclaw’s nightlife, appearing regularly in the city’s best music venues such as Nietota and Vertigo Jazz Club.

Led by American vocalist and guitar slinger George Dyer, the band includes guitarist Rafal Bilas, keyboardist Sebastian Lobos, bassist Maciek Mandrykowski, drummer Tomasz Burzynski with saxophonist and Johnny Mars Band member Craig Hume recently joining the line-up for certain shows.

Their sound pays tribute to powerhouse blues, rock, and soul bands such as the Allman Brothers and the Band of Gypsies, while incorporating some contemporary funk influences from bands such as Vulfpeck and Cory Henry and his Funk Apostles. With their high energy funk and soul tinged blues music, the band is able to hold the attention of the most discerning blues aficionados while delivering a show that will delight audiences of diverse ages and musical tastes.

George Dyer Band’s debut album, Puff the Dust, includes seven original tunes along with a re-vamped blues funk by the late legend of Texas Blues, Philip Walker. Other tracks echo many of Dyer’s influences including Jeff Beck, Cornell Dupree, Jimi Hendrix, and Johnny Guitar Watson.

Puff the Dust has received airplay and praise from blues-friendly radios across the US and Europe:

Dyer has created something rather special” — Terry Clark-Ward, host at Radio Ram and writer for

“It sounds very good, congratulations”— Josep Palmada Verder, host of Red Hot Blues Show on Barcelona’s
