Vanessa Haynes

Vanessa Haynes

Arguably one of the UK’s greatest vocalists, described as having a voice 'nothing short of mesmerising' by UK Soul, Trinidad-born Vanessa Haynes invites you to experience her very own brand of soul.

Cutting her teeth as a backing vocalist for artists such as Van Morrison, Haynes became frontwoman of legendary jazz-funk outfit Incognito in 2008, touring with the band for over 14 years.

Haynes' impressive vocals have also led to collaborations with icons such as Chaka Khan and James Mason. Vanessa's voice has been described by one critic as "combining the sting of Chaka Khan with the resonance of Aretha". She has wowed audiences in some of the world's most iconic venues.

Vanessa has performed to sell-out audiences at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club, the Wilderness and Henley Festivals, Porgy and Bess in Vienna, Fasching in Stockholm, B Flat Club in Sardegna, and other venues throughout Europe. She has been a featured soloist at several BBC Proms and at London Jazz Festival's opening gala - 'Jazz Voice'.

Vanessa has enjoyed multiple collaborations with conductor Guy Barker both on concert hall and jazz club stages. Described by the Guardian as 'remarkable', she has appeared as a soloist in orchestral performances at the Royal Albert Hall, London; Manchester's Bridgewater Hall; the 15,000-seater venue, The Granary, in Malta; National Polish Radio Symphony Hall, Katowice; and the National Concert Hall in Dublin.

Vanessa’s live projects for 2026/27 include the following:

The Vanessa Haynes Band
Wild Balloons was the 2nd highly anticipated album from Vanessa. She performs music with her band from her new album alongside some of her favourite songs. A new album will launch in 2027 accompanied by a tour of the UK and Europe.

A Celebration of Aretha Franklin
Vanessa and her 10-piece band bring an electrifying live stage energy as they present a retrospective discography of music spanning several decades for this very special tribute that celebrates the life of the late and legendary Queen of Soul, Aretha Franklin (1942-2018).

With a residency at the world-famous Ronnie Scott’s in London and an album launch tour for The Vanessa Haynes Band, 2026/27 is destined to be extremely busy for this world-class recording artiste and vocalist.
